We have been so busy settling in, making new friends, trying to remember everyone's name... it seems much longer already!
Lovely meal at local restaurant last night, La Chicorée and a good opportunity to chat to new people and introduce ourselves!
Full day at university today where we have worked in 2 groups, according to our own language ability looking at methodology for delivering quality language lessons which will engage and maintain pupils' interest whilst providing stimulting learning experiences. It is already becoming a little easier to communicate in French as the rusty (in my case!) language gets dusted off and the ear re-attuned!
Songs, videos, games, and an emphasis on encouraging pupils to be able to ask questions. Lots of ideas to be thinking about and digesting here.
Talking of digesting... a lunch 'très français' at the university further reminded us of the French culture as regards eating a proper lunch!
Lovley walk across town in the autumn sunshine this morning, though this had unfortunately turned to drizzle by our return late this afternoon.
A short time to rest - and blog! - before out again to eat this evening!
(Looking forward to reading entries from other participants here shortly...???! Don't be shy!)
Alison
